Find an item that has a damage bonus on it. Near the top in the object editor you will find the items Abilities.

Go to the abilities tab and find that ability. Copy and paste it and then set the damage to what you want. It should be found in the field Data - Attack Bonus.

Now go back to your custom item and add your new damage ability to the item.

If the item is being held the same as normal items, then you can just make an item in the object editor.
Then you make an ability based of "Item Attack Damage Bonus" and change the value to 50.
Then you have to choose that ability in the ability list in the first option of the item type you want that bonus to have.

Then you just have to make it drop, create, sellable, etc.
