Well I know Ive pretty well took the biggest stick I could find and did a damn good job at stirring up all the undesirable crusty parts in probably one of the most offensive ways possible. But I'd like to follow up on that since I'm not a troll that comes here just for the "lulz" or some dick who just wants to complain and never talks about the improvements.

I brought up issues with moderators not acting like mods and pretty well started calling half the forum sycophants (suck ups). What Ive noticed happened because of this is a lot of tension has ceased and Ive seen at least one mod get their hand slapped since then for "unmodlike" behavior. In the years Ive been here (I had a different account but I never posted and deleted it a while back) Ive noticed the atmosphere getting more and more poisonous but now I think its starting to clear up a bit. Here's to a hopefully brighter future *cheers*.

A lot of my friends have left the Hive and it's turning into a sour, 'metallic' community where the moderators are striving to keep some kind of order, which is really stupid on the internet. I vote that Hive goes back to being the informal but useful modding site, and less "srs bisness"

This thread is about the recent good Ive seen here and I'd really appreciate it if everyone could stay on topic. I sure as hell pissed of more than a few mods and a lot of users. Two threads were complaints this one is about resolution....you know what fuck it. I'm tired of being civil. I really just want to be me and forget all this politically correct bullshit.
You know what I am to this forum? Nothing. Just another user with an opinion. The only difference between me and whoever you want to compare me to is I piss people off by saying the right/wrong thing at the right/wrong time. I have a knack for really pushing buttons and worse yet is I usually have a good reason to push a button. Nothing pisses people off more than someone who's an asshole about being right and has absolutely no modesty about it either.

This is just your every day run of the mill "website has gotten too big to control" issues. The problem that I'm seeing is that the issues are being allowed to exist. Which Ralle told me are hopefully getting fixed soon. That means that the issue has been recognized and is being dealt with. This is a follow up on what Ive seen change lately which is part of the fix.

Personally if I was to implement changes. I'd establish a 3 warning policy for users and mods alike. Not for little stuff liek double posting but for insulting where it isn't called for or in the case of mods for behavior that's not fitting of the position. With a warning system that's actually used the morons who are here for the "lulz" get kicked out pretty fast since they are too dumb to follow the rules and mods who happen to gain power and end up abusing it have a 3 strike policy before they are removed from that position. Solves a lot of problems easily.

Any other fixes that I have are already being used so I won't bring them up.

Please I know you have an opinion and I know that you are just trying to say the direction that the hive is heading, but this is like if I were to go out on the street and yell the direction that America is going, Nobody would care. I understand that this isn't technically a 'Troll' but nobody wants to hear the direction of anything until they can do something to help and you gave no way to help, nor are there many ways to help. And about me publicly discussing a PM: I can do whatever I want. It's private to you, but it's not private to me. If you invest your knowlege in me hoping that I'm not going to tell other people, than you're wrong. I am an attention whore. I don't care. If I may have my personal opinion...

We moderators have an awful lot of crud to deal with.

Not only are we put to a MUUUUUUCH higher standard than normal users, which means:

We have to be half way on edge 90% of the time, along with our moderation duties, which many of us have multiple sections to deal with, that normal users have no idea how much work is actually involved in keeping these sections running smoothly.

Then you have to add on top of that, poorly behaved users who like to waste our time, and waste our patience, and waste our ability to restrain ourselves when we would really just rather reach our hand through the screen and murder them at their keyboard.

Then when we do punish them, the majority of it being a slap on the wrist, we get whined at, and whined at, and whined at some more...then for extra measure, we get drama flavoured whine. And trolls as our waiters, and flamers to keep our meals extra hot so that we don't even want to eat anymore.

Then you have ungrateful users who complain constantly that their wants and demands have not been met within seconds of posting it in three different sections. We don't just wave a magic wand and say "HERE! HAVE YOUR RESOURCE! +rep! REP REP REP REP!"

There are PROTOCOLS! SYSTEMS DAMN IT! Things we have to follow in order to keep this site running smoothly, and users who like to bitch about every little thing don't help.

This site is not dying, its not cold, its not some thing that needs to be dropped into the mud puddle of "zomg lets not be serious lolo0lololololoasdogfasd0slfasldfololioasdjgnoa;sdool, lets be like the HIVE version of 4CHAN kkkkakdkdkdkdkdkkkkkk?!!!!!1111oneone!!!!"

NO! We have a rather large site to take care of, and if we don't keep it in some relatively clean order (which isn't even CLOSE to being strict anyway) then this site would be the real hell hole people make it out to be.

Since we do have this system...and we are under a tighter leash than the users...We have certain privileges, and some leeway when we do snap, or when we do on occasion do something that is a bit miffy, because we are only so many people, trying to baby sit 33,000 users! over 30,000 resources, and about ten bajillion forums, sub forums, posts, and people! Who are all screaming at us at once! "GIMME GIMME GIMME!"

Honestly, it has to do with one user, whose name I will keep anonymous, who has pressed for major changes in our moderation and administration teams, and who has written many sensible posts that, in essence, pushed our moderation through many blooming changes, and many more to come.
Hint: It's not you, all you've done is gotten me pissed because you think you're influential with your overall useless and terribly vague rants which have yet to serve a purpose other than entertaining me while I rip your arguments to shreds.
Now, if you think that last part had no merit, check your previous threads. You often bring up what is the problem. Well, ask any user, they could tell you the problems occurring. However, you never ceased to fail to list "how" and "why", as well as decent solutions that were backed with logic and rationale.
Please, until you learn how to make said posts, stop embarrassing yourself.
