Actually, not only are you allowed to, but you're obliged to.

You're supposed to put "Hosted by The Hiveworkshop" and the link to the site somewhere (At least, that's what I remember reading the last time I read the rules)

Don't listen to Magtheridon, you're not forced (or "obliged") to do anything of the sort. Refer to the site if you want, or don't if you don't want to. Just because you put your map up for download or get help with triggeringproblems it doesn't mean you're obliged to praise The Hiveworkshop.

If you get your map approved in here, we'd certainly like that you mention us!
In my opinion, it is certainly a better option than to create forums that experience a weak activity peak and then fall in utter inactivity (which is something people tend to do for some reason).
