Attach the body to the head or vice versa, same thing, then select the polygons on the body where you want the neck to start from and the polys on the head where you'd like the neck to end and use Bridge. It's faster than to target weld all the edges.
Alrighty, but how do I attach the head? By grouping them? Sry, I just started in Max a few days ago.

just to make sure you got it right, there's a button that says just that, "Attach", in the command panel when you're in editable poly mode. That's the one to use.
