Help in attack damage increase runes.

Hi! I'm making a RPG map and I've created 5 heroes that have as primary attribute strength, agility and inteligence. The map is a bit difficult so I gave tomes of knowledge to the creeps in order to make the hero stronger. But after 10 tomes the hero gets overpowered and the hole game gets bored. So, I've decided to make something like a rune that when you pick it up your hero's attack gets increased by 10/20/30 e.t.c. I've coppied a rune and I've created an ability similar to the Item Damage Bonus. I added to the item but when I tested it in the map the hero just stand by it doing nothing. I also tried this with triggers but I could find out how to fix it. Could you help me please?

Each time your hero Picks it, you want it to be +10 each interval taken ?
I mean first time the unit takes will get +10 damage, next is +20 damage, and so on... is it like this ?
Is there a cap (maximum) ?

No, I want something like Claws of Attack but when your hero picks it up he permanently gets a bonus +10 to attack and does not need a free backpak space. And about the +10+20 no. I just want the attack damage to be increases like the items says (Attack damage rune +10. So the hero gets +10 to attack every time he picks it up).

I don't care if it's in green or it's white. Both ways are good. If the primary damage is 20-25 (for example) and when I take the item says 30-35 there is no problem. And if I take the item and it says 20-25+10 there is also no problem.(Also thanks for answering).
