You will need Half-Life Steam or WON version after all. But that's a prequisite only because this PC port was made to act out as a mod. So no - it's not stand-alone.

Blue shift was major fail disappointment. It was WAY too short.

IMO, Opposing force was better. Although nothing beats the original Half life (In its generation)

Is this the one based of the HL one PS2 port? I played that already, it was OK at the time.

Brad, imo Opposing force was better. I think it's the best offical mod for all the Half-lifes.

Defender, it might be old, and not so well detailed (btw DL HD pack or PARANOIA if you want better graphics) but the gameplay owns a lot of games from these days.

The HD texture packs greatly improve the texture quality of the game, making things a bit more ftw than what 1998 had to offer.
