Why is it when you are generally good at a game in WC3 you suddenly are a "hacker"

Is it just me or when I absolutely own at a game on wc3 do people call you hackers?

Im gonna put a poll on to see how many actual hackers there are (it'll be anon)

Ok the poll tells me that for every 1 hacker there are 5 people who dont hack, but 4 of those 5 are accused of it.

Well, I'm pretty average at almost every game, and no one calls me a hacker. Hacking would take the fun out of everything.

Buy sometimes, I see something that is really obviously a hack. for example, I was playing Footeman frenzy once, and after about three minutes, when no battles had taken place, all the people on one guy's team had level 10 - 15 heroes. And no, it was not that version where you get XOP just for attacking something.

I haven't seen anyone hack before. I don't play melee, and generally just don't play b-net.

That's a cheat code put into the map by the creator, or more probably the person who hacked the map and put it in.

in one dota game, my brother was facing this Lina(with a Single Target Ultimate), and she did her ulti on my brother when he was creeping a hill above Lina, behind some trees

Looking at the replay, there were no curriers or wards or anyone near :S

it seems like i wrote wrong in the post(how the hell can he be running away, and creeping at the same time? :p)

EDIT : Oh, and "or anyone near" would refer to that aswell Jacek, since Bloodseekers Bloodseek(or whatever) has a long range, but not across the whole map(and it would have required my brother to have low life, and that there was a BS in game :p)

Ermm... The only way for a level 4 Bloodseek, to not catch a guy below 40% hp, would be to have the bloodeeker in the juke spot by the sent tower in the bottom lane(far South, east corner of them map) and for the other guy to be in the most northern part of the top lane, or the most north west peart of the top lane.

who said that the BS, or anyone for that matter, was level 7? Ultimates are gained at Level 6

and the BS, if there could have been one, could have been dead anyway

I was an ethical gamer., that's why I was no no to hacking., but I think its better to called it cracking., hacking is not intentionally to be/an accidental thing only thats why its not totally bad., but cracking is intentionally and its your will to do it.,

I was trader in a game of Bships once and it wasnt the version where you can get the trader radar ping, and this guy right, everytime i went one way, he would catch me half way there, now there is no way to reveal map in Battleships and there is no way he could have guessed everytime... i was north force and hid behind the little island on the left waiting for the lines to clear up a little so i could conserve my shield and fog and he used crusader, fogged, and came up behind the island and sunk me from out of view since i had goblin scout crew, now there is no way to see through trees to my knowledge or figure out where the traders, or anyone for that matter are, if thats not map hacking, i dont know what is...

Generally if im not any good at something I don't play it. So I have no need to hack. Games that I would want to hack on I don't play, Simple :).
I think most people who are regulars on bnet have been accused of hacking. I myself am on a few different peoples banlists for "hacking" and i get thrown out of games every now and then.

Yeees!

I've seen "hacker".
Sometimes in DotA it feels like enemy knows all your moves.

When I am killing neutral creeps and they gank me I scream "GAAYy MaAphackEr.
But hmm.. They just say WAAAAAAARDSSSS!!?

But I don't believe that, if I don't see Wards in their inventory.
And yes, there's no wards. They haven't even bought them so it must be ... !

I don't plau on B.Net, but my friend told me about a neat little program he aquired that gave him some advantages. He used it to have the enemies hero icons under his so that he knew their health, he could see their cooldowns, disabled fog of war, zoomed the camera out for a wider field of view and stuff like that. If he hacks when we LAN I will be quite annoyed.

I've met my fair share of maphackers... hell, one of my friends decided to download the thing, I banned him shortly afterwards. Actually, I didn't ban him BECAUSE of the hacking, but it certainly contributed to it.

But I, myself, am clean. Once I tried to download custom kick (couldn't figure out how to use it... :p), but that's it.

And before anybody gives me a guide or a PM or some shit on how to use CK, I don't care about it anymore.

Can you define the word "hack"???

I have a couple of questions:

1. Is using a bot or namespoofer hacking?
2. Is using known cheats in game hacking? (like if the maker has made them)
3. If you edit a map and add cheats to them, is that hacking?

Thats about all that I was wondering..

j33bus, welcome to FAIR loap. That guy just had godly powers or knew godly bugs.

Those that you descirbed were impossiable to hack into WC3, as he would need a mem bot on your PC to keep the game insync, which I am sure your firewall would stop so he would be auto dropped with a OOS error.

Loap often has imba systems and laggy crap to make it unfun, so hacking in it will only improve it if it was possiable which it sadly is not. So never play LoaP, especially modern ones as everyone only ruins them and never improves them.

When LXCreeps made the first Real Life map, which is what Life of a Peasant was based from, it had essentially every feature that the current LoaPs have, except that it wasnt rigged to hell. It had a few bugs, but then people started editing it and tons of new "edits" and "updates" began to pop up. I feel safe saying that RL/LoaP holds the record for being edited by the most people and having the largest collection of different versions under its name, and also probably has the record for being the least updated map since its release.

Custom kick is worse then a map hack.

Custom kick, essentially, is a win hack.

I'd rather have everyone on Battle.net maphacking, but no custom kick in existence.

I have to agree on that one. Some hosts always use it when they start losing. It's really pathetic.

I don't like it either, but is pretty nice to use against spammers who like to type messages all over and over. It also works against feeders and backstabbers(not noobs, but ppl that do it in purpose to ruin game) in AoS games.

I think it's better if the game itself has a vote system to kick someone in your team.

Custom kicks are mostly used by sore losers as far as I know.

I like custom kick when used properly.

Especially in some maps it can be usefull to rebalence teams after droppers happened if they do not automatically as 1v6 is not fair, espeically if your the host and the 1 because all your allies decided to leave to go play dota or something. Most hosts drop anyway when in that condition so atleast it extends the fun.

It is also good to remove "noobs" who try and ruin you playing, by eithor being spammers and overall swearing or by TKing or overall everyone hates them ingame.

In games with vote systems, you can often be kicked as host because you are "too good" when everyone else just plain sucks and some "noob" who has taken a dislike to you decides to try and kick you. With custom kick you can stop that from happening by reducing the person who overall hates you for being "too good" to the battlenet lobby before he starts the vote.

It is also a good instriment of revenge, especially in LoaP maps where some "bastard" has been making your playing expierence hell for a long time and the host suddenly leaves. If you are lucky to become host you can kick that person and make all that wasted time feel atleast less wasted (he got what he deserved). However revenge use of Custom Kick only applies for maps that are noticeably unballenced where someone has something there is no way in hell you can ever get that strong, even with best gear (loaps, other crappy maps, ect).

But I do agree that people heavily abuse it and I prefer to use a map's voting system rather than it as it is more fair. However facts are facts, and so it does have some good uses, too bad most people only use it badly (kicking you because you are "too good" or they "suck").

As a matter of principle, I hardly ever have it on, and virtually never use it in a PvP maps unless nescescary (the entire enemy team wants one of their allies kicked and there is no kick vote system for the teams).

However, this site will never support it, and I will always not like it on average due to abusers. Another good idea ruined by selfish people who can not live with the fact that they are dealing with people and not computers when pressing the button. Worse still it is an escuse that people randomly shout at you when sitting in the chat channel, blaming you that you used it when you do not even have it downloaded yet, let alone able to be used.

I said vote system to kick someone in your team, not your opponents. Why would you want to kick someone who's helping your team a lot? It's pointless.
