Grant vision of a single enemy unit

How do you reveal a specific unit for a player?

Example:
Id like a player to always have vision of an 'assassination target', but not any other of the enemy's guards.
The simplest way is to have the 'assassination target' owned by another player from the 'guard' player. But, Id like to know if there are other ways?

Perhaps you could use a custom Faerie Fire with a very long duration used by a dummy caster, that would leave a debuff on the target though.

There's an action for it, you can also use a dummy unit and move it with the target, could use devour/cargo hold or soul gem as well.
