you have to declare yourself a observer in a game before it starts, you can only do this if the map allows observers which is determined by the host. to become one you click on the team rollout tab that says team 1 by default, then select observer from the list.

I think kkots wants a trigger to declare himself an observer during the game. If that's the case, please move this to the World Editor Help Zone.

Yes, seems it's not possible to go as an observer during the game without of special trigger (in RARP, SOTDP) (which I really don't know how to make); then, it seems I just didn't know what command to type and host kicked me (and there was no official way to declare yourself an observer).
