I'd like to start by introducing myself, You can call me the Sandman.
I've visited the Hive countless times over the years but , well, i suppose never found it appropriate to join up, seeing how im a private map-maker and can't really wrap my head around model-making. But I've made use of , man, ALOT of the resources available on this site.
So because of that, let me give a shout out to:
WILL THE ALMIGHTY
Burning_Dragoon5
ikillforeyou
and my personal favorite, Frankster(I think he usd to be called General Frank)
Love your work guys.
Now for my request, seeing how I have a fondness for Goblins(obviously), i couldn't help but notice that the Warcraft-based Goblin custom models seem to be a bit 'overly' modern, i.e, some have machine guns. Now its not that I don't like these models(I freakin love them), but i've always been under the impression that lore-wise, warcraft reaaally hasn't gotten past the steampunky 'rennassance' era, i.e, the highest tech fire arm is the arquebus at least, rifled musket at most... and yes, the lovely cannon.
So that being said, why for the life of me can't I find a rank and file style revolutionary-Napoleonic era Goblin Musketman model? Because I would -love- to see one made, especially after seeing such masterful animations that've been put into models like this one in particular:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/hand-gunner-51336/?prev=search=arquebus&d=list&r=20
(Shout out to Mechanical man, absolutely masterful reload and smoke particle animations there man, a job well done)
Now if you could combine that type of firearm, those animations with such a clean looking Goblin model such as:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/...dier-135774/?prev=c=20&t=1&r=20&d=list&page=3
(Again, shout out to WILL THE ALMIGHTY, one of my personal favorite models of all time there)
Well, combined smoothly enough, I think the potential is a real accurate Warcraft 3 (and World of Warcraft) period Goblin infantry unit that is balanced, deadly and just so.. freakin... cool. And not just an 'ok' Dwarf Rifleman knock off.
Thanks for hearing me out guys! Keep up the good work!
