GMAX start up problem

i cannot get GMAX to start up for some reason.
it's listed in my process tab using up about 12mb of memory in the task manager but it is not showing in the application tab.

i've tried installing and uninstalling and reinstalling many times but the same thing happens. is there any free 3d modeling software i can use to make new models for my wc3/tft projects?
