Hello

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with GMax.

See I found a really good tut on how to start getting into modelling, and it required that you used GMax cus the tut was specified for it, I downloaded it and registered it, however when I launch it this fatal error message appears:

Interactive 3D Renderer initialization failed. Please check your device settings by using the -H command line option.

I looked in the folder for help, like the manual etc but couldn't find anything, so if anyone here might be able to help plz post!

I would really appreciate it

I had exactly the same problem.
You have to right click on the gmax shortcut icon, where you open gmax.
Then in the context menu click on "Properties".
Then in the pop up menu click in the table on "Shortcut".
Now in the gap "Target" there should be written the path:

C:\gmax\gmax.exe

Now just add " -H" behind it.
Like that:

C:\gmax\gmax.exe -H

After you have done this press Ok and open GMAX via the edited shortcut.
Now choose another Driver, in my case it was OpenGL.

I give you a link, where everything I told you is written, too, also an alternative way, if it doesnt work like that.
