Generic unit event-A unit takes damage can't find it!

Such event doesn't exist, you have to set given unit as a variable and add event to that trigger instead.
However, use GDD System, it's perfect for GUI users to detect damage, easy to get familiar with.

About adding event to trigger with actions for damaged units use:
  • Trigger - Add to (This trigger) the event (Unit - Your_unit takes damage)
Fill your_unit and this trigger with variables.
