This just came in from the goblin capital city. Goblin officials claim that the science department has managed to create its first fully operational flying machine. Tests are being run for intercontinental travels. According to the officials, these pictures have been taken during the flight test from above the maelstrom.

News reporters from all over Azeroth report the missing Frostwhisper air fleet, last seen in a brutal storm over the maelstrom. These pictures were the last sights of the missing fleet, consisting of five supporters, six dragons, and one war ship.

If you are refering to the clouds, then that is just a model in UTM.

I used the UTM version 3.0
The background is a model called storm-sphere. It has lightning on it, but that can't be seen in the screenshot.

Nah, see the black is merely the background without any set sky. The clouds come from the storm-sphere.
