I've found this bug on several forums and threads.

In some threads and forums, I've found the final link (17 in this case) will just take you to the last page (16). The page 17 actually has no comments/threads on it, meaning that the linked page is non-existant.

Yes I've seen this too. It seems it has hiogher possibility to happen in threads with lots of posts.

Old bug, caused by deleted posts.

Deleted posts are still kept in the thread, they are just hidden from normal users.
