(X) Fun Factor/Gameplay
| "Footman :: InFiNiTe" is a Footman Frenzy map with a few unique features. It is (apparently) bug-free and net-friendly (does not lag).
What I enjoyed most about this map was the originality. You were averagely original on the unit spawn and the items. Not so original with the terrain -- it is just a Footman Frenzy map terrain structure. A good option would have been to diversify that a little or add various arenas and let the host (or the players) decide in which to play.
Even though it is original, the gameplay turned out to be long and boring, thus the (X) on the Fun Factor. Another problem I see with this map is the balance: ranged heroes can stick behind the lines and gain experience very quickly, while melee heroes can be slowed/entangled and then targeted. Melee heroes become, therefore, underpowered compared to the ranged ones. |
I'm also in doubt with the 10/10 upgrades. Going for items should be at least nearly as worth as upgrading your forces, else players tend to follow that line of events (going for upgrades, then items), which is bad for strategy diversity.
One last tip for the packaging: put the changelog in HIDDEN tags
next to the map's description.
