I did something like that in a map named Gsu'h Will, but the system was pretty heavy and I was a noob back then :) You can use a unit group instead of a region too.

If you are asking on teleporting allied heroes or players back in world map from the battlefield or battle area, You check if all units owned by the enemy player are dead and if yes, pick every units belonging to the allied players and move them out of the arena.

Mostly as what Spart said, Unit group will do the work! :)

1 - When battle starts you save the position of all the players in the "World map".
2 - Move players to Battle Field
3 - Create the monsters and add them to a Unit Group
4 - Every time a monster dies, remove it from the Unit Group it's in and check if number of units in the Unit Group is = 0
5 - if it's = 0, move Players again to their original position in the world map, give the exp, give the items, etc.

In my map I spread the monsters and players through the battle field and created a 1-hit door to reach a small region (Circle of power) where all the players had to stand to return to the World Map, even if there were still monsters around (Like Escaping)
