FHD: Ghostly Swamp 1.81c

Forest Hero Defense

Map Info:

I had the idea of this map first when I was trying to create advanced spells
system at W.E, after many attempts, I finally learned how to make it. I'm a
dota fan, really fan, but I was being tired of the same heroes, the same spells,
the same map, the same everything... I started to play only CFs with my clan
and in my free time, I was making this map.

At first, the map wasn't so good, it changed a hundred times... Some of the
older heroes are still in the game and being remaked.

The map is a Dota-Like map, it has the same objective, the same three lanes
and almost the same features as normal dota, like Lane Creeps,
Neutral Creeps, "Roshan" (but here you can find more than one kind of
Roshan) and teamplay.

I'm not trying to make something better than Dota, Dota fans will agree with
me that it's hardly possible, I just made my own Dota, and I made it alone.

Features:

This map is almost like Dota, for now it doesn't have a lot of commands, but
I intend to update it soon enough, what really make this map "special" are
heroes, I put a lot of effort in it, because I think that it's the most important
part. The heroes in this map offers many different combinations with
their skills, almost every hero I made thinking of "how this spell can be
used with this other spell to create this combo?" and I think you will like
these heroes. (I recommend trying the Psychic Woman... she is awesome!)

There is more than one hundred heroes to pick and have fun, of course, there
are heroes that I'm removing, or changing them. I can't tell you if everything is
balanced, because I almost played only 2x2, 3x3 online with friends, it's really
hard to invite people to play a new strange map, and the preconception over
maps like Dota.

The map also have many items that you can create, I tried to make the easiest
way to understand the Recipes (called Scrolls here) and its requirements,
the is items for early, middle and late game.

Commands:

There isn't many commands yet, I'm working on it, but for now we have:

-ms Shows your hero's current movement speed.
-ma Shows your team and your enemies. Level, playing state...
-random Gives you a random hero
-st This command is available for some heroes with special features,
like accuary of some spells, total attribute stolen/gained with certain spells.

Game Modes:

Game modes can only be used by Player One (Red, Host)

-ar Gives everyone a random hero
-debug Debug shows some data values (like when "Vanguard" is triggered)
used for test only, do not use this online, can cause lag.
-inferno This command is for a random challenge, it occasionaly calls infernals
from the sky at random points of the map, it can fall at lanes and block creeps, it
can fall on towers, everywhere.

Test Commands:

These comands can only be used when you are playing SINGLE PLAYER.

-hard It destroys your houses, causing the enemy's creeps to become advanced creeps.
-train It gives you 9999999 gold and increases your experience rate.

Pressing ESC while in single player will reset your spells and items cooldowns.

Ball speed increased from 1000p/s -> 1250p/s but the total distance is the same. (1360 at lv 5)

Shadow Eye:
Eye limit increased from 2/3/4/5/6 -> 2/4/6/8/10
Cooldown rescaled from 30/25/20/15/10 -> 60/40/25/15/10
Manacost rescaled from 35/45/55/65/75 -> 5/30/55/80/105

- Darkstalker

Shadow Walk:
Maim duration increased from 4 -> 6 seconds.

Shadow Skills:
Removed the Staff of the Kings upgrade.

Base Armor reduced by 3
Base Strength increased by 2

Cursed Sword:
Damage reduced from 30/50/70/90/110 -> 20/35/50/65/80

Added 6 bonus damage.

Attack damage given now increases per level: from 10 -> 10/20/30/40/50.

No longer gives 6 hp regeneration.

-It realy lags at the beginning
-on the contrary to other dota clones there are good custom abilities and good new items. Thats realy positive.
-in my opinion the map itself is too huge and the terrain lacks of variations (it is a little bit empty)


All in all playing this map could be fun but it has no new content, which could make this map special.

All in all playing this map could be fun but it has no new content, which could make this map special.

If you consider the fact that I did everything alone, the map is in general Good, or Bad? I'm providing the credits, wait...

It is something between good and bad...
I noticed that you put a lot of effort in it, because of that many heroes but there is still some work to do.
Maybe you could change the factions because "nightelves against scourge" is worn-out.
I can not say anything about the balancing because I played this map in singleplayer mode.
You realy have to work on the terrain.


The best product won't be sold if the package is ugly.

I must confess, I'm a poor terraining, I'm good at creating heroes, abilities, maybe items, but terrain, fog, is not the thing for me!

I'll try to improve it for the next update. Try testing some heroes, while playing single-player you can choose more than one, so you can try them all! Some heroes I'm pround of, some I'm not, but I'm remaking them...

I loved this map in multiplayer, I didn't had the chance to play 5x5 but, with some friends, 3x3 is wonderfull... My strength is the heroes!

I chose Night Elf x Scourge not only for dota, but for the theme, Ghostly Swamp, Orcs and Humans fighting there would be strange.

I will add some videos I'm making to the map's description.

Single-player, this map is really boring, because as dota is, it is made to be played online and 5x5.
