Well, I kind of failed here. I wanted a tornado but it didn't look any good so I removed it.

A storm in a farm, like the ones in the courage the cawardly dog show if anyone has ever watched it, just that this isn't in the middle of nowhere. ^^

Actually this terrain is kinda disappointing for me. Let me try to give you some thoughts why.
The camera angle is well choosen, but is ruined by seeing the terrain tile which is so ugly. especially this scattered part of it. I would really love to see at least a different tile there. Also you should think of adding grasses or shrubs to some of the stakes of the fence.
A second point is the end of the world feeling that somehow would fit on one site, but on the other hand is done like it was not intended. What I wanna say is, it looks unprofessional, which i did not expect of you to be honest. Maybe trying to improve the feel of distance to the hills in the back or adding some more hillines would work better here. Apart from that, there is nearly no real storm atmosphere in it, this is caused by the screenshot being taken in a very unlucky moment somewho, the lightning is not really visible anymore, so yeah, but you could improve it somehow with glows aswell, maybe, also rain could be more intense :p
I really hope to see you improving this, since this is not your standard of work normally!

i really love the sun in the second one,
i think you should remove the rain completely...and probably make the terrain something like a sunrise over the field..just an idea

I've got to agree with Megafyr on this one, the first one is the way to go, it only need a bit more love. Firstly, as stated the ground and the fences need to be better, I suggest you use the wooden doodads in "Refuge in Ruin" to manually make the fences yourself, then to add some "human faults" into it, not having it look perfectly symmetric, cause no man-made thing really was back then :p

Other than that, I really find the ochre on the right side, the small part, to look extremely spammed, I'd suggest you having something else there, or let it look like its just recently been sown, or something like that.
That and I really think you should work a little more on the lightning, use some glow doodads to make it a little more eye-catching, I would like to see IT being the center of focus, and I also disagree about both removing the rain, and making it heavier, its perfect as is.
