That looks like the error I get when I try to open a "protected" map...but since you claim to be able to open any protected map I bet that is not the case.

My first thought then would be, if your computer went to hybernation or something it may have tried to save the file and corrupted it.

Uhmm.. what do you mean he can open ANY protected map?? You mean Darky28?
Now lets get back to the topic, Did u import something weird into your map before saving it? I heard that this could cause errors in ur map.

Actually, protected maps generally complain about missing TRIGGER info before anything else. Level info is not mutilated by protection, meaning the map itself is probably corrupt beyond repair.

Not much you can do. The only REAL chance you have is that there's a file at Warcraft III\Maps\Test\WorldEditTestMap.w3x (or .w3m if it's ROC-compatible) containing the data from your last Test Map action, which suffices as a backup in worst-case scenarios.

If you didn't back it up, you're probably out of luck.

This isn't impossible, I've had WE corrupt my maps several times... It says the save fails, except the file's still there, WC3 crashes if I load it, and everything shows up as 0 size in the import manager. Annoying.

Only way to protect yourself is to save and back up your work frequently, which you should do anyway.

Wow_whatanewb, whenever you import stuff into your map, and you save and exit, your imported stuff WILL show up as 0, it's designed that way. The files merge with the map....

No, they don't.

Every time they've showed up as zero, the map filesize has been about 900K short of what it should be, and if it loads (which it usually doesn't), the custom artwork on the buttons is solid green, while the custom models just don't appear.

if you indirectly opened the map (like through a shortcut) and have alot of custom stuff on the map, it gets really f***ed up.
