Downloading models problem

When I download a model, it appears as a zip file instead of a mdl,blp or mdx model. How do I change this? Pls help

That's how resources works on this site. Use a .zip extractor like WinRAR or WinZip to extract the content.

It's a zip because the model often comes with textures, a readme file, etc. zip is a file containing multiple files. You can extract it with Windows. Just double click and copy out the files inside.

Personally i find zips to be too modern and fancy good old buttons or laces do the trick for me.
