Disabled icon -howto- question

I was wondering how exactly to make an icon that I downloaded and has no disabled version - have one. What parameters do I tamper with exactly? I have photoshop and...paint. What are the exact numbers of darkening to look like a disabled icon?


-p.s. I found it. Brigthness -100 does the trick.
I couldn't find 'delete' for the threat so please moderator dispose of it. (yea clean after me, sorry )

I'd normally use this for adding borders

Two options, hard way and simple way.

Simple Way:

Download Button Manager as stated by UgoUgo and just make the icon has its DISBTN.

Hard Way:

Try darkening the image in a photo editing program and copy the format of a DISBTN such as its black border.

But you will have to be specific in the lowering brightness and also tell me whats easier? Clicking the desired icon format or still brightening it up and adding a specific dark border?

with most photo editors there is a slide that shows brightness level of current picture. U can slide this to the left and it lowers the brightness. Its rather easy to use.

But as I said that we must lower the brightness equally, not too bright or dark. And sometimes brightening or darkening it sometimes give unwanted results.

u can shrink the icon on ur screen to the size it would be in wc3 to see if its 2 bright / dark.
