Different ways to apply a custom slow effect?

Just asking how people implement slows that are unique in their effects (operate alongside other spells independently)

I tried using, for example, just giving a unit a reverse endurance aura effect, but the effect's fade time is ill. I know the actual slow spell has its uses, but how do you get more than one of a certain kind of buff to effect the same unit additively/multiplicatively?

What if I want triggers to reduce movespeed by a certain amount? Could always add a negative boots of speed effect, but what do we use for the buff icon and how do we make sure it lasts accurately? Have a dummy cast a debuff onto the target unit that lasts the exact duration?

Use buffs which are different to each other, if I recall right, different buffs for similar spells (e.g based on slow) will stack if they have different buffs.

Yes, have a buff that afflict the target while it takes effect. This buff will be removed when the ability ends and along with it, the effect itself.
This requires triggering though.

Multiple single-target spells with the same parent ability, with different buffs will remove existing buffs of the same parent ability and won't apply their own buff if there was a buff made by an ability with the same parent ability.

At least that is for slow.

If they have the same buff... I think WC3 takes the one with the highest effect.

This is what I remember being a problem. Could do independent triggered slows, I imagine, rather than messing up a tangle of dozens of slows though. That's a whole 'nother situation of implementation I'd love to hear about.
