How would you delay damage on a spell?

I want to make a single target spell that when used, the damage is dealt x seconds after it is used, and also do AE damage.

I was thinking of creating a dummy unit with a self destruct spell and making a trigger to have created unit follow targeted unit, but that wont work out well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

or you could use a timer.......when its over make the dummy over target area.......and tell it to cast its spell....

about ae damage, you could just use an ability based off of acid bomb or something, and set the duritation to 1 second.

Using the Area Damage action isn't such a good idea because it will damage all non-spell immune units in the area (permitting you use the default spell damage), ALL units will be damaged in that area, including allied units, so instead use a Unit Group - Pick Every unit in Unit Group and Do Actions, and for the conditions make sure the units aren't allied. A timer also isn't a good idea, you might as well just use a wait command... much simpler.
