Custom Tileset?

Ok, so is there a way to have a custom tileset/ use other tiles on one map OTHER THAN modyfying the tileset you already have? Like can I add more then the limit or use custom tiles in some other way?

I think WEU had an option for allowing you to add more tiles than the normal editor allowed, however I don't recommend using that outdated editor.
