As some of you may know, you can create your own day/night lights by editing the models in the "Environment/DNC" folder in the MPQ. Anyway, opening one of them and checking the animation for ambient color (In magos) i get this:

333: { 0.509804, 0.509804, 0.235294 }
InTan: { 0, 0, 0 }
OutTan: { 0.392157, 0.221543, 0.115703 }
14200: { 0.901961, 0.731347, 0.350997 }
InTan: { 0.392157, 0.221543, 0.115703 }
OutTan: { 0.0392157, 0.0529666, 0.463927 }
15133: { 0.941177, 0.784314, 0.814924 }

InTan: { -0.392157, -0.23835, 0.0392157 }
OutTan: { 0, 0, 0 }

As you might notice there is 60000 frames to a full day/night cycle. What I want to know is, at what "hour" of the day/night cycle does it start at?

(What I want is to create really dark nights, while not changing day.)

I am not sure exactly what you need. I think it is 6:00am and 6:00pm that the day and night switches. You'd want to modify things from 6:00pm to 6:00am (or maybe 5:59 or something). You'd basically want to modify half the values starting at some point that I don't know how to determine.
