Creating custom heroes from scratch

How do I go about creating a hero from scratch instead of duplicating a unit and turning it into a hero. I'd like to make 9 diffrent heroes for a map. I'm just not too experienced with the editor yet, I can make a hero but only if I duplicate a unit, how do I start from scratch, add an actor and other shit to my unit.

Next time, instead of asking these questions, look here first.

Edit: You always duplicate a unit if you want to do something properly. It takes waaayyy too long to create a unit from scratch. All the things you need to edit in that unit are found within the duplicated unit's fields (actor, abilities, health, energy, damage, armor, size, etc etc).
