This map is only french, Conquest World regroyupe several eras from prehistory to the space age. For the moment this version has only three eras.
There are two kinds of resources, material, that have generally cutting of trees (or other) and the money, which is usually by taxes of various buildings.
You will notice there are not many buildings or research at the outset, it must be released by other research (logical not?)
It may be that many natural elements bother you in your conquest so be careful
But in short, will try for a better idea xD
