I like it a lot :). The land looks very realistic. Did you use UTM btw?

To be fair I don't use a whole lot of models in this one. Most of it is lighting oriented. What you can make out is composed of a couple different grass models from UTM and B2M's high res stuff, foreground rocks from UTM and felsen used to portray mountains. The ferry thingy is something I got from Keiji's bag of tricks.

Oh yeah, I checked. The sunwell is at RGB(255,255,255). It must blend weird with the fog or something.

A lot of everything and nothing. Don't mix red and blue like that.
I don't know what this means. Everything tends to be composed of somethings and nothings, and this pink esque red tint in contrast to pale blue is a pretty naturally occuring phenomena for dawn lighting, that has been portrayed in more than one terrain. Not to mention in more than one terrain from you.

You're going to have to expand on that before I act on anything.

Lantern, sunwell, where is the sun reflecting from .....
Could it be that the beacon is what's being reflected and not the sun which isn't even peeking out? But if I am completely blunt I don't really know what you mean either. I feel like I recognize the pattern; you passing off some snide comment that is so ambigious I really don't know how to interpret it, just before you vanish for hours on end without expanding.

So I will be waiting.
As always.

My Opinion ,

1. The Light coming from the boat looks like unrealistic maybe , Lanterns could be much better.

2. The angle of the shot looks horrible.

3. The Background on the boat :
You Should Put Some Details Like : Trees etch.

That sunwell needs to go, like right fucking away.

I might add that I find the reflected light to be a tad too intense and those angled pine trees sunk into the ground behind, or in front of,
the girl, depending on from where you see this, look awfully awkward and doesn't play too well with the fog-work.

Counting out these factors this is a wonderful piece, I have to disagree entirely about the mix of blue and red,
what I find masterly serene to look at and wonderfully composed to blend together two otherwise contradicting colours to a mix of tamed chaos.

I disagree regarding details to the background, keep it clean and simple.
- If anything I would say add a lighthouse somewhere, but then, you don't want to overdo that in your terrains :p
Angle is perfect.

It appears to reflect a higher light source than the beacon; sun for examble. Better said by Keiji, "I might add that I find the reflected light to be a tad too intense".

It's OK for me with "blue and red combination".
We can see you try hard to create the dawn in your way but somehow i saw the sky like it has a "hole" where the light comes from that.
Maybe the blue's lighter than the red and the way clouds are arranged is the cause...

I am really happy to see you again now and to see how smooth your terrain is !

That is a ridiculous piece of art. I'd hang that thing on my wall.

Honestly, other than the green sunwell, I think everyone is just trying to find problems with it because that's what your supposed to do in this forum. I've spent a fair chunk of time in here (as some of you know), and I understand the temptation. But there's a point when you're just trying to find flaws that aren't there.

I'm not saying all of your criticisms are bad, or that you shouldn't criticize, I'm just warning you of something I know I did and I think could be happening here.

Alright, did some minor editing. Removed the sunwell (dammit), fiddled a bit with the lighting and removed the pine frill.

I also uploaded a version with Ashenvale custom light environment (top) in contrast to Village (bottom).

Blue is rather a sad, cold color.
In the village lighting while its more "blueish" it looks more lively than the one with ashenvale lighting.

However i like more the ashenvale lighting because it kinda feels more distant, kinda nostalgic, and i like it better.

No idea which one I like more. Both have their own merit. Both are hanging above my bed.
