So basically, u showed us a different premade material and different lights? yeah, thats... great ... -_-

As I said I Modeled most of it. The bases of the pieces were already made. I made the materials. I used the textures from the library to make the materials, yes.

I'm sorry if thats not good enough for you. I'm just showing a little work I did.

I feel like I don't give a shit. I said I liked your cathedral thing and I don't remember saying anything sarcastic to you ever before, so shut up.
This doesn't look nice (default scanline render...eeh), and I'm not saying everything you do has to be amazing, but really no one cares if you made a tutorial. Good for you, but no one cares, really.

Well, thats all I have is 3dsmax5, its not up to date. And I got a crappy computer that can't handle extreamly complex renders. But what should I use to render then? The cathedral thing was rendered the same way, with the default max thing

Brazil r/s, v-ray, mental ray for max 5, etc...You can download a free version of Brazil r/s, called Brazil Rio from their website and apparently it's still available for max 5: http://www.splutterfish.com/sf/WebContent/Rio
It has a few limitations, but nothing that'll affect you.
There's also some awesome totally free renderers like Indigo (unbiased renderer similar to Maxwell; don't know if it works with max 5 though, but you should try):
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1
And Sunflow:
http://sunflow.sourceforge.net/
Just to name a few.

And just because you use max 5 is no excuse for not doing anything of your own...I KNOW you do, but really post that instead of tutorials...as I said, no one cares if you make tutorials and no one wants to care, it's good for you and keep them for yourself.
