Yes we use boards aas a main source of communications but many of the users and most of the admins and moderators have msn so its pretty much the norm if you want real time chat.
In most cases I will not use MSN and AIM to talk with people from forums unless I am working on a project with them.
Saying MSN is = to an irc board is just plain stupid.
IRC is a great thing to have. Real time chat with people works so much better than forums for helping people. And not to mention the things said in real time chats get oh so much funnier.
It also allows everyone to join in on the chat, so you might end up talking to and getting to like someone you would not have messaged over msn.
well if people would actually use it it would be great... we'd all be united by a universal chat source, so those who are borwsing the forums can talk on irc at the same time, and those who dont have msn will still have a way to talk to other hive members. I'd like to see the Hive have one, and i'm sure we have enough users for it to be used often...
Brad, I think he's talking about the currently co-existing poll on this subject. I'm not really sure if the admins would want to close this thread or merge it with the other, but I would encourage discussion about this topic to be continued there.
