Channel - Buff

I'm using channel as a base ability.
I have set the duration, and added buff to the spell, also enabled target as "Self", but no buff appears whatsoever.

Why does this happens?
This is ability for item which effect has been triggered (for easier manipulation).

Channel cannot place buffs. It's used as a highly configurable spell that allows for manipulation of aspects of spells. But a spell that places a buff you need to use a spell that is hard coded to place a buff.

What about Effects?

You allways can use triggers and dummies to do what you want ^^,

Buffs are parts of abilities. They inherit their behavior. Channel does not state how such a buff would be used.

Then there is no point of it containing Buff, Effect, Art fields etc..

The object editor displays a lot of superfluous fields that are not used by individual abilities. Blizzard just chose frequent fields to be the common shown pool. Abilities can request what they need from the data storage.
