So this is a bit weird one.

Since I do not want the computers (AI) to show up in the lobby, I decided to set Player 6 and Player 9 as Controller - None in Scenario Properties.

Everything works fine since I've custom coded everything in regard to those two ''imaginary computers'' - however I can't seem to find a way to change their names.

As of right now, it's displayed as ''Player 6'' and ''Player 9'' and the trigger action Set name does not work.

  • Player - Set name of Player 6 (Orange) to |cff8080ffAlliance|r

Also setting the slot controller to Neutral does solve this problem (no computers in the lobby, name changes) but it makes the units stand in place and not do anything.

You can probably set their slots to Users/Computers, then change the name, and then set them back to None.

I don't think their names will appear when you highlight the units in-game.

Good suggestion but once I:

  • set the Player 6 and 9 slots to either User / Computer
  • change the name of the desired slots
  • set the controller again back to none
  • save and reopen what I just modified

it gets reset back to default values unfortunately.

Ingame if there is no Computer force controlling the units it displays their default name once u hover over the computer units. I guess it's no big deal if there is no workaround to this but I wanted to give it a try.
