Can't Stop Linking

When I uncheck the "Automatically parse links in text" option for making or editing posts, it does not work.
*unchecks option*

EDIT1: Okay, what gives?
EDIT2: Hmm, so automatically retrieving titles modifies my post...
EDIT3: I don't get it, I'm sure I unchecked the boxes in the other post I made...
Well they recheck themselves when I go to edit, instead of staying what they were.
EDIT4: "Show your signature" and "Disable smilies in text" use the posts check state, but "Automatically parse links in text" and "Automatically retrieve titles from external links" always want to recheck themselves when I go to edit.
