Ur camera angles are all the same...
Not enuff doodads, not enuff variation, not enuff height deformation and height...
Your temple needs allot of improvement more tile variation and more focus on the height... looks sorta rushed...
Good luck and keep it up one step at a time.

Very little tile variation. You can also put an environment doodad, like shrub or something around the trees to make it look more realistic. You never see a flat ground with a huge tree jutting out from the middle with nothing else around it, eh?

But keep working on it and it'll look great. I like the dark background for the Warden and Archer Camp, even though it can still improve.

Well.. They are better.. >.> But still it looks as if they were done in 5 minutes, there is rarely any detail on the map ;/

do you know why is it "something"? cause i actually dont know. THAT is exactly the thing you have to figure out, all is easy after that ;)

-you need more tile variation
-more terrain height variation
-fog
-dont use blizzard cliffs

that is all that i can tell you.
Half of my knowledge came out of reading tuts. Another half came by trying out things myself. so... get to work ;)

well you do have fog but im noticing its starting very far away and ends abruptly so it does help the picture much in any way.

Try messing with the numbers so that the fog is present throughout the entire picture but you can still see the terrain clearly. Try placing the numbers at 1000 and 5000 in the Map options and mess around with that

Ok. Your terrains really just need variation and a better atmosphere. That is that *Something* that makes a terrain shine. For the island, show us that it is an island, give offshore screens, not just on the island. For the village, give tile variation and more detail. Very few forests are just grass and trees. Actually, look at any tree in the world, it is not surrounded by grass completely. You just have to put more thought into your terrains.
