by changing the backgtound color, and use stronger shade.

So the lightiest part of the puppet is still too light against the shady ones? and I should make the backround (atleast a little around the puppet) lightier?

Yeah a bit (i'd go grey) around the pupet, so if you'll darken(shade) a bit, the pupet won't fade into the background.
