I agree. Sure the icon needs much more work to reach an acceptable, approvable standard, but we should focus on telling him how to improve it rather than making him feel bad.

So, aki, it's unclear and way too blurry. Try to improve your art by maybe looking at other potions. Add shading and details. Here's some really good examples:
