Maybe you could change the shape a little since it looks more like a baseball than a boulder, that's just my opinion though. I like how it looks and i like the color range really gives the effect of heat well.

Looks good pala, but the boulders seem not much like a realistic boulder if you know what i mean. Maybe add a more realistic rocky feel towards the boulders.

Yeah, i agree. I'm not really satisfied with it either.
And practically, there are hundreds of icons with "meteors" flying down coming from the same side. Thus, i directed them this way.

I actually like that they aren't lined up in this icon. I doubt the meteors would all be in perfect order as they rained down upon some poor sucker.
