Well i mean you are right, but what he meant was that (from his perspective) he doesn't see any technical issues with the icons, that's why it was questionable to him, and to me as well (that why you would react in this way).

People rate resources based on their quality, what's wrong with it's quality? the drawing, the painting, it's cnp or traced? it's ai?

I think this site has a problem with rating things too highly in general. Or maybe just these days.

I personally don't rate a lot of things because It wouldn't be 5 stars and the author might have a breakdown/people get on my arse.
And I think it's fair enough for personal subjectivity to factor in. However I wouldn't rate something below 3 based on it "not vibing with me" alone if everything else about it was good.

For the record I'd rate my own stuff somewhat lower in most cases.

But at the very least an explanation for a low rating would be nice.

A low rating is fine, I think the issue is your comment gives no indication as to why you gave it a low rating. If you give no reason then the author cannot potentially update or improve their work.

Thanks for the encouragement, the rating doesn't really bother me, I did assume raypack just has a issue with Grubby, and Imo it isn't necessary to show your opinion of Grubby by rating an art piece, but it is what it is haha.
The resource got enough high ratings by now and it has a good score.

While I see that removing a rating without even talking to you beforehand or just on a whim is quite bad, you also did not really give any reason why you gave that rating and it seemed to most of us that you have some bad feelings about the subject. Giving a '' is just a stupid as using profanity or slurs in this situation.

Maybe all of us can learn something from this: Don't rate something with just stupid emojis and if you just don't like, but have nothing against the resource on itself and maybe for the mods and reviewers to actually communicate (I know, hard, if you don't have a spine) with the users and not just exercise power.

I think he's been given the reason why the rating was unfair before the removal happened. I guess a message directly reflecting this could have been posted at the time of removal although I wouldn't call the move spineless when a reason was hinted some posts before.

You were told to add a reason for the low rating and you didn't, why should the resource receive a low rating just because you're unwilling to explain why or give critique/feedback? As stated before, low ratings are fine but you can't just give something one star for no reason, we both know that's not very fair.

The low rating with no explanation got reported, myself and others asked for an explanation of the rating; none was given so it was removed. Implying I or other members of staff are spineless I don't think is very nice or fair either when I think the situation is very clear cut. Why do they need a message saying "You're rating was removed because you gave no explanation" when that has already been made clear in the thread?

Either way, the situation is resolved and to summarise: low ratings are fine, but you should at least say why you're giving it a low rating, that is the whole reason a comment is required before you can rate a resource.
