i like it, very warcraft 3ish and detailed just enough that you can see but not too much that it is wasted

At first I couldn't tell if it's a drum. But if I study it carefully, I can. It's a nice idea, and I like the way you implemented it.

That comment reminds me of Blizzard's icons. Frankly most of them make no sense as they are completely unrelated to the spell or item.
But this is distinguishable as a drum which makes it better.

the sides of the top of the drum are uneven. one is straight while the other is a little rounded.

Yes but it probably won't be noticeable in the W.E. and it isn't like drums/other things were perfect back in Ancient times.
