Sin'dorei300: Needs more work, it's blurry & undefined.
Try to rework them from scratch.
Sin'dorei300: Take a look at the approv'd lightning icons in THW.
Sin'dorei300: Take a look at this and other lightning tuts.
I would suggest zooming it in to the actual object which is the Lightning. Overall, it looks good but did you do the lightning by yourself? If yes, I am happy because you are actually practicing making icons from scratch.
I edited an existant picture, cut the part i needed, edited and colored, i did not start anew. i'll try and edit but i need a more powerful image editor first my photoshop is old
It looks quite off. The glow of the lightning cuts off with the main background which makes it quite bad. I would suggest providing an overall same colored BG with the color of the thunder as well but not too much of the same color. Try playing around with the same color but of different styles.
Judging from your old into this, it pretty much is worse, no offense, you'll have to take the truth in this. The light of the lightning is too strong and bright which makes your main object which is the lightning itself too undefined and unclear. The lights should be a little dark and also it's size smaller to the point that it covers the whole lightning exactly.
