Cooper's sword?
It could have some nice little background glow or effect there
It'd look better

Has shading but needs an outline imo.

That sword is placed on a purely black background. Outlining won't be visible/any other colour (presumably white, in this case) has to be used wisely, or it will have a detrimental effect on the icon.

But how about blizzard's upgrade icons? For orc, they use black background with orange outlines.

Seems a little round, the blade looks more cylindrical than flat and sharp.
