zombie2279: Now, the fire's shape is that really bugs me. The fire's look is not in any way realistic.

10th June: Rejected until updated.

9:36, 29th Jun 2009: Hardly any changes made, to tell the truth. The general flame effect is still really unrealistic and the background is lacking.

Lighten the core of the flames, darken the black parts of the wood and it would be prfect; besides, most of Blizzard's icons don't really have that much depth either.

I could remake this and produce 30 WIP's.
I don't use filters (other than sharpen)
What will it take to build my reputation in icon making to that so I can be trusted?!

wow if your just doing this for reputation then stop. you dont do it for reputation. rep is just a bonus that comes along if somone likes your icons. honestly though i am not likeing your icons. they are very low quality and you cant tell what is going on in every sigle one of them and they look like they are made with the paint program most of the time. either improve drasicly on your skills (using filters is not the best idea) or try somthing else.

Anyways, improved the overall quality - Tweaked it, added more colors, did a bit of detailing.

There's more definition now, i can see what it is by the first glance. That's a really good improvement. Though i still think you should add more depth to the background, or keep it simple black.

And as denothor said, the borders are odd. On the left side there are some strange "boxes" right next to it, and i think i saw some part of the icon smudged over the lower part of the border.

Keep up the good work and this icon will look really good.

Darken the core of the wood more, either that or fill the whole thing up with black. You can leave the edges of the wood as red as they are now, but the centre (of the wood) should be almost completely black. The fire's improved a lot, so all thats left now is to darken the backgound a little and this gets 5/5 from me

What ta hax now the fire needs to be shrunk a little and it seems to have lost its original shape, something that I find more realistic than this...and please darken the patches of white in the background, they're interfering with the fire. And now the highlight is turning everything around the fire red...and burning wood should be black not brown...oh nevermind.
