Hmm.. contrast yes. Just make the light red parts with a little white and the dark red with some black.

Tornados aren't sharp. What it needs more contrast for, is the shine you would expect to see on blood.

It does look really cool, but needs a little bit of bright white/bright pink lines for the light you would expect to see reflecting off of blood.

A Tornado is a triangle with its head down not a beam and you need to add a spinning effect and more contrast and a bloody red color not a pale red and use back line(Dark) to define the tornado
