The little purple and black squares the represent pathing blockers and stuff no longer appear when I'm placing them. How can i get them back?

I think it' called displaying of info... Look through the menu where you can turn off displaying of doodads, regions and anything. then turn on the one called info..

In world editor, -> view -> info display has to be on.
