There actually was. It first appeared in Star Trek: First Contact and then in ST: Voyager.
As for the model, it needs to be somewhat darker.

I'm sorry, but I have to say it's pitty that all these space-models don't have more animations!
Such models with only basic animations are USELESS in real-game-time and they do NOT look realistic if they just "stand" there. even if skins are fine!

which animations do u want?
attack? spell?
the ship isn't an organic model so the hull wouldn't deform while attacking -> no animation necessary
all effects could be done by proper missile models in my opinion...
