I was thinking of making a board style game, turn based. It will be similar to Soulchess, except battles will be larger (each board unit has their own group of units), so instead of 1vs1 battles, its about 7vs7. Tell me how it sounds.

Setup

Board
- four 7x7 corners, 1 per player
- neutral intersection cross to divide players
- "Circles" used as action indicators, Movement, Ally, Enemy

Process
- 1. Race Selection
Each player will start with a race selector to pick which units they will use for the game. Each race can only be picked once. Each race contains 36 pieces, some duplicating(like pawns/peasants).
- 2. Piece Placement
After selecting a race, players will be able to manually place the positions of units onto the board, or have the option to do a pre-created one.
- 3. Play Game
When all players have placed their pieces onto the board, a random player will start the game. After certain actions(moving a piece, attacking, or casting a Board Spell), the next player in a clockwise direction will have 90 seconds to do whatever.
- 4. Defeat/Victory
When all pieces of an enemy are destroyed, the player loses, but receive the power to cast crippling abilities on board units occasionally. When all players except one has lost, the last one wins.

Actions
- 1. Movement
All board units have their own movement style(some can move 1 space left, right, up, down, and others may move diagonal).
- 2. Ally
These areas disable the movement option. However, some pieces will have Board Spells to heal, buff, etc. other ally pieces.
- 3. Enemy
These areas disable the movement option. However, some pieces will have Board Spells to damage, cripple, etc. enemy pieces. Or you can simply attack.

Battles
- 1. Battle Arena
Battles occur in different stages, depending on where the defender was attacked on the board. If the defender was on lower height, the attackers gain a slight speed bonus; if the defender was on higher land, the defenders gain a slight speed bonus.
- 2. Battle Victory
Battle outcomes are: victory, defeat, or draw. Victorious battles give some Board Points and the defeated get a little more Board Points, to balance it a bit. The winning group levels up, giving more abilities as it levels and also are healed.

Player Options
- 1. Board Power
These are special uber abilities players may use to tip the balance of the game, each unique depending on the player's race. To use these Board Powers, players must obtain Power Points by: a) having a unit on certain areas of the map, b) by battles, or c) help from defeated players.
- 2. Forfeit
What's a game without forfeiting? This option will allow players to simply observe the game and is treated as if the player was defeated, giving the option of using abilities to tip the game, like a normal defeated player would.
- 3. Strategy
Players will be able to check the possible movements and abilities of their enemy units may make also, so players don't have to play 5 games just to know who can do what! Note: I am considering if it should be like Stratego (visit wc3campaigns.net and check out Wartego which replicates it perfectly) where enemy units won't be revealed until it attacks or casts a spell.
- 4. Power Points (alternative)
Players may use Power Points not to only use the Board Powers, but alternatively, may use it to instantly level up a non-leader board piece, or even add any unit to a board piece, using more Power Points the stronger the desired adding unit is.

I have the basic set up of the game already - movement, battle, 1 arena, starting abilities. Hoping it turns out good.
