.bmp Attachments ?!?

Hey Guys,
I wanted to upload a picture in .bmp format, but it said it was wrong file type.
Why can't the Hive Workshop upload .bmp pictures?
Wouldn't it be useful to implement this filetype, too?

Why use wasteful .bmp files if you could have almost lossless and small .png files?

Edit: Attached a zip with two exact pictures.
You will see that the difference is more than 3 times, which is immense.

Well, eariler it could save in BMP too, but some time ago Ralle or someone made so you couldn't use it. Use JPG/PNG.

Bitmap's like 5 times more space eating than PNG... for some reason. (The bigger the pic, the more times bigger the bitmap) Now there's absolutely no difference in the quality, but size...

Yeah. Allowing BMP would be very wasteful.

Well, BMP stores the info about each pixel and it's color, while PNG and JPG do it some other way...
