Black/Red Lightning

Could someone please color lightning models like chain lightning from blue to black/red like in the pictures ?

If you create a lightning effect via triggers, there already is a function to change it's color.

So all you have to do is to make sure to create the lightning via triggers.

I don't have Warcraft on Linux. Just check the Lightning section in triggers, there is a function change lightning color.

It is impossible to create black lightning effects by skinning them, because black is automatically (regardless its alpha value) rendered as transparent.
I dont know wether it is possible with triggers, though.

Last time I checked there is, in DotA for one you will also find custom lightning.

Damn, but perhaps if i recolor an existing model ? But another question, if it's not possible to recolor lightning to black/red is it possible to color it purple ?

Well as said before, if the change color of lightning is there, then you can change the lightning color to black, purple, red and most others.

But i don't mean the lightning effect, i mean the effect models from abilities like chain lightning.

I couldn't find the effect in the mpq, do you know the path?

The paths are:

Abilities\Spells\Orc\LightningBolt\LightningBoltMissile.mdl
Abilities\Weapons\Bolt\BoltImpact.mdl

I have discovered something, although the abilities use these models, the core of the lightning effects still come from Art - Lightning Effects.
But you cannot actually change the color from the lightning itself, only the attached effect models.
