For cinematic purposes, dota's terrain sucks balls.

For playability, it's almost balanced and the gameplay constants of the fog and such make the terrain very exciting to play on.

Um, yes, I know a lot of terrain that's a SHITLOAD better than DotA. TKoK is just one of them, and that FAR surpasses it. It's not very hard to go above icefrog's terrain. Really.

The DOTA terrain is really bland. Easy to play in but very very dull. I don't see how dota fans look at it over and over again.
